The Italian Acoustical Society is pleased to announce that, starting today, the application process is open for partner companies/institutions and their proposed themes for the AIAthon initiative – “Angelo Farina” Award for Innovation in Acoustics.

Established in 2026, AIAthon is more than an award; it is a high-impact innovation competition dedicated to acoustics, designed to bring out new ideas and solutions to real-world problems.

The competition will involve teams of researchers, professionals, and/or students, as well as partner companies/institutions.

Partner companies/institutions are asked to propose a stimulating challenge and contribute to the initiative’s funding by supporting the award and the organization of the event. Young talents are asked to form teams of 5 members each and discuss a specific topic to develop the basic concepts of the proposed innovation (technological maturity level, TRL 2, etc.), leveraging their skills and creativity to develop cutting-edge solutions.

Participating in AIAthon means accessing a select pool of talent, ideas, and expertise without the constraints of traditional R&D paths: a concrete way to explore new solutions and discover future collaborators.

Themes can be submitted until March 17th: we look forward to seeing you!!!

Download the Call for Applications and all the information in the AIA website.

Please note that the application deadline for the traditional AIA Giacomini, Sacerdote and Giovani Acustici Awards (another new award for 2026) is February 28, 2026. For the Barducci award the deadline is March 31, 2026
