The 47th Acoustical Society of Italy National Conference took place from 24 to 27 May, organized by AIA with the patronage of Inail, Ispra and the Ministry of Ecological Transition. The Conference was held for the first time online, through the Zoom webinar platform, and was accredited for the issue of professional training credits for Architects, Engineers and Industrial Experts.
Considering the indications of the members (previously collected through a questionnaire), the conference program was structured in continuous scientific sessions, organized in the form of webinars, in four afternoons from Monday to Thursday, from 2pm to 7pm.
The Conference achieved excellent success both in terms of public (180 participants) and of technical-scientific contributions (60 papers).
The Conference hosted 4 technical reviews by AIA 2021 Gold Supporters: Svantek, Aesse Ambiente, Spectra and Saint Gobain.
The works began on the afternoon of Monday 24 May. After the Opening Ceremony, the presentations of the scientific contributions were held, organized in 8 thematic sessions (see program):

AIA for the 2020 and 2021 editions. Due to the health emergency and the postponement of the conference in attendance to 2022, the 2020 and 2021 edition Barducci prize was not awarded.
On Wednesday 26 May at the end of the works, even in online mode, a convivial moment of informal meeting was inserted between the Members and the participants in the conference, to discuss together on the next activities of the Association, share the aspects of the associative life and talk about the perspectives acoustics in Italy. The meeting ended with a virtual toast and see you in Matera!
On Friday 28 May, two satellite courses were held, organized in collaboration with the Polytechnic of Bari and accredited by the Puglia Region, valid for the updating of Competent Acoustics Technicians, entitled: “Acoustic climate and soundscapes during the epidemic from COVID-19” and “The role of TCA in the design, verification and classification of the acoustic performance of buildings.” The courses were also very successful, with many requests to participate and the 50 available places that were immediately sold out.
The proceedings of the Conference are already available for the participants in the page dedicated to the event in the ACTS section. They will be available free of charge to AIA Members by the end of the year in the download section of the reserved area.
The next appointment, which we hope will finally be in attendance, is for Matera, where the 48th AIA National Convention will take place at the end of May 2022.
