The International Year of Sound 2020 is a global initiative to highlight the importance of sound in all its aspects, as well as scientific and technological developments in this sector.
The International Year of Sound – IYS 2020 is a global initiative related to the UNESCO “Charter of Sound” n. 39C / 59.
The International Year of Sound will consist of coordinated activities at regional, national and international level under the coordination of the International Commission for Acoustics (ICA).
These activities will aim to stimulate, worldwide, an understanding of the important role that sound plays in all aspects of life. These dissemination and dissemination activities of the knowledge and implications of sound for society will also encourage understanding of the need for noise control in both the natural and urbanized environment and in the workplace.
In Italy, the activities are coordinated by the Acoustic Society of Italy (AIA).
