“Wednesday technical meetings” with the participation of AIA 2021 Supporters and Companies

The Acoustical Society of Italy organizes the “Wednesday Technical Meetings” in autumn 2021, a cycle of seminars in webinar mode with AIA 2021 Supporters and companies.

The program includes 5 informative meetings, free of charge, which will be held every Wednesday in November, and the first Wednesday in December, from 13.30 to 14.30.

There are two interventions for each meeting, the first concerns the theoretical framework of the topic dealt with, managed by AIA; in the second one or more case studies will be illustrated through a technical report from the Supporter / company.

It starts with Svantek for the first webinar on November 3 which presents the “Realization of a monitoring system for environmental vibrations svan 958a / sv 258pro – Metro Doha – Qatar” with the scientific contribution for AIA by Patrizio Fausti (University of Ferrara). The second webinar of 10 November sees the participation of Saint-Gobain who talks about “Acoustic design with Saint-Gobain solutions of educational environments according to the new uni 11532-2: 2020 standard” with the scientific contribution for AIA by Dario D’Orazio (University of Bologna). During the third webinar on November 17, Spectra discusses the “Vibration measurement aimed at assessing disturbance to people and damage to buildings” with the scientific contribution for AIA by Andrea Tombolato (Acustica pd). For the fourth webinar on November 24, Aesse Ambiente proposes the “Study of the acoustics of interior environments with CadnaR forecasting model” with the scientific contribution for AIA by Luca Barbaresi (University of Bologna). The cycle of meetings closes with Head Acoustics on 1 December and the webinar on “The sound landscape measurements” with the scientific contribution for AIA by Francesco Asdrubali (Roma Tre University).

Patrizio Fausti: is Associate Professor at the Engineering Department of the University of Ferrara where he teaches Technical Physics, Civil Technical Systems and Building and Environmental Acoustics. He was one of the founders and lecturer of the Acoustics School of the same University. The research activity mainly concerns issues relating to building and architectural acoustics, noise control, vibro-acoustics, the acoustic properties of materials. He is the author and co-author of over 200 scientific papers published nationally and internationally. He is responsible for research projects in building acoustics and noise control, promoter of Public Engagement activities related to the Anechoic Chamber of the University of Ferrara, partner of the University Spin-off “Materiacustica srl”. For the AIA he was Treasurer from 2002 to 2005, National Coordinator of the Building Acoustics Group (GAE) from 2005 to 2008, Chairman of the Technical Committee Room and Building Acoustics of the EAA from 2008 to 2011 and member of the Board of Directors from 2014.

The meeting will examine, from the point of view of measurement instrumentation and analysis of the results, the salient points of the UNI9614 and UNI9916 standards.
The problems that may be encountered during the integration of acceleration signals will also be addressed.
The intervention will end with a review of the most suitable measurement configurations according to the measurement needs, both stand-alone and cloud-based.
