The evolution of vibration control

DUE TO ORGANIZATIONAL PROBLEMS RELATED TO THE RIPERCUSSION OF THE CURRENT HEALTH EMERGENCY THE SEMINAR IS POSTPONED TO IN THE AUTUMN.

The evolution of vibration control: smart sensor networks & industry 4.0″ is a one-day workshop, organized by the Acoustical Society of Italy (AIA) in collaboration with the National Institute of Metrological Research (INRiM), Politecnico di Torino, ARPA, ACCREDIA and with Professional Orders of the province of Turin. It will be held on March 27, 2020 at the National Metrological Research Institute of Turin.

Vibration control plays an important role in many felds: from industrial processes (for monitoring the functioning of systems or preventing defects), to Industry 4.0 (for managing automation and Machine Learning), as well as for other applications nowadays widespread, such as environmental, seismic and infrastructure detection, navigation and positioning systems, surgery and remote diagnosis, health feedback survey and environmental/natural hazard.
In these applications, data quality and traceability are of fundamental importance, as well as suitable measuring devices and systems. As reported in the BIPM strategic document of the Consultative Committee for Acoustics, Ultrasound and Vibrations (CCAUV), these technologies «need to be underpinned by new metrology to support reliable and safe operation (including digital sensoring) and for underpinning traceability chains and quality management requirements».

The workshop aims to analyze these new perspectives and opportunities in the field of vibration control, through interventions of experts from universities, industry, agencies and laboratories.
