Vibration control plays an important role in many fields: from industrial processes (for monitoring system operation or preventing defects), to Industry 4.0 (for automation management and Machine Learning), as well as for other widespread applications today, such as environmental, seismic and infrastructure sensing, navigation and positioning systems, remote surgery and diagnosis, health feedback sensing and environmental/natural risk.
In these applications, data quality and traceability are of fundamental importance, as is the choice of suitable measurement systems, new generation physical-digital sensors and analysis methods. As reported in the BIPM strategy paper of the Advisory Committee on Acoustics, Ultrasound and Vibrations (CCAUV), «the diffusion of such systems must be underpinned by new metrology to support reliable and safe operation (including digital sensing) and to support traceability chains and quality management requirements.
The seminar, organized by the AIA in collaboration with INRiM, Politecnico di Torino, ACCREDIA and ARPA Piemonte, aims to analyze these new perspectives and opportunities in the field of vibration control, through interventions by experts from Universities, Industry, Agencies and Laboratories.
