The 56th INTER-NOISE Congress will be held at the Padova Congress Center from August 22 to 25, 2027. The event, promoted by the International Institute of Noise Control Engineering (I-INCE), is organized by the Italian Acoustical Society in collaboration with the Croatian Acoustics Association (HAD).

INTER-NOISE brings together researchers, practitioners, industry, and industry experts to share innovative research and shape the future of noise and vibration control.

The congress theme, “From the Noises of the Past to the Sounds of the Future,” reflects the evolving role of acoustics in our society. The goal is to move beyond traditional noise control to explore how sound can be designed and managed as an essential component of our quality of life.

The program includes numerous technical sessions, with oral and poster presentations, addressing a variety of topics, including modeling and simulation, soundscapes, biodiversity, product sound quality, and the close links between noise control and society.

A distinctive feature of INTER-NOISE is the technical exhibition of companies operating in the acoustics and noise control sector. This edition’s new feature is the creation of an area dedicated to live technical demonstrations in the outdoor spaces of the Congress Center.

The Padua Congress Center is a technologically advanced, innovative, and versatile space, designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma and inaugurated in 2022. It can accommodate over 3,000 people simultaneously and offers a total area of over 5,400 m².

Immediately following the main conference (August 26-27, 2027), the Summer School for doctoral students and early-career professionals, titled “Where Theory Meets Practice,” will be held. The program combines advanced academic training with practical industrial insights and is specifically designed for doctoral students, researchers, and young professionals in the sector.

Following the congress, in collaboration with the Croatian Society of Acoustics (HAD), a satellite event will be held in Venice, in the Aula Magna of the IUAV University, focusing on noise control and best practices in recreational and tourist contexts, which will address the management of noise related to transport and commercial activities in such environments.
